Memories Project

We are currently working on a remenance project in the aim to make a digital story of wartime experiences of elderly residents that currently live on the Lansbury estate.

On Tuesday, 15th May 2007, a group of residents and volunteers over the age of 55 whent for a trip down memory lane. The group went by coach and mini bus to Paddock Woods Hop Farm for there 1940 themed week " we'll meet again".

Residents had the opportunity to experience an old time sing-a-long to old favorites sung in the war with entertainmenmt from Flanagan and Allen, and a tea dance. There was even the opportunity to have another look at an Anderson shelter and be served a cup of tea from a period enamel mug with a big chunk of Bread pudding served from a NAFFI wagon, and the opportunity to look at lots of wartime memorabilia.

as part of the preperation work for the lansbury Voices group, the group decided that they needed some support to further develop their photography skills. the group is currently undertaking a 4 week short course an introduction to photography. This is currently running on Wednesday evening in the main hall of the Lansbury Neighbourhood Centre from 6;30-8:30 Pm.
