Background
The Lansbury Voices group members were asked to produce an audio visual recording for Showing at the Lansbury Neighbourhood Centre Family learning Black History Event which is going to be held at Trussler Community Hall on Saturday March 17th 2007.
The Members of the group wanted to record digitally the views of elderly resisdents and their experience of immigrating to England. The group have some experience of using ditital storytelling as a method of recording elements of life experiences in a form that is creative and enjoyable to watch.
Week 1
The group looked at what equipment they would need to record at high quality. Gordon did some reserch on the internet on types of recording equipment that have been used by other organisations that do video /audio archiving. funding was identified to pay for the equipment through partnership. The group discussed the various forms of microphones that were needed to get the best sound recording. Experience from Digitales was very helpful.
Week 2
This week the group worked on the requirements of producing a short film DVD. the length of the film will be around 8 minutes. We looked at how many interviews we would need, editing requirements, and discussed potential questions.
Week 3
The equipment arrived and the group practiced using it with mock interviews.
Final Week
The audio visual presentation took place at Trussler Hall on Saturday 17th March 2007.
